Web Domains
Your domain name is your address on the web and how people find you online. Domain names only
use letters, numbers, and hyphens. Spaces are not allowed, and domains cannot begin or end with
a hyphen. Domain names are not case sensitive, they can be between 2 and 63 characters, not
including the extension. People may try to guess your domain name based on your company name,
so choose a domain that is close to your company name. If you're registering a .com address for

.net represents the word "network"
and is an unrestricted global domain name extension most commonly used by internet service providers,

.biz is a restricted global domain name extension used for business websites.
The .biz extention offers a company that has a business the opportunity to get the .biz domain name to

.info is an unrestricted domain name extension that creates an opportunity to
reach a world wide audience with information about your business, ideas, and information. Recently the
.info extention has grown in popularity due to great rise in information websites.
Regional Domain Names
Each country has its own domain extension. Canada, for example uses .ca, the United States of America uses
.us, United Kingdom uses .uk, etc. Most countries have specific rules surrounding exactly who can register
domains using their extension and for specific country purposes.
Speciality Domains Names
Although .com, .net, and .org extensions are typically the most visible and most popular extensions,

extensions that are not specific to any country. These are used for alternative domain names, like .areo,
.coop, .museum, .name, and .pro.
